The Foxy Kat_AILA Mister PookiesSince I recently got my nails done, this #ManiMonday is actually a #PediMonday, but it doesn’t have the same ring to it. On Saturday my mother-in-law, Terri, took me out for a belated birthday celebration featuring pedicures and lunch. Not only was it much needed to spend some quality time with mom, but also my three week old pedicure that survived my Mexico vacation was looking a little chipped.

Let’s take a moment to discuss my last pedicure… The color I used last month was a full bottle of Julie G nail polish in Damsel, which I received in my IPSY Glam Bag (retail value $3.99 online). The pink color wasn’t too bright or too dark. It was a very “safe” pink color that I know my mom would love too. Usually my go-to is a hot pink that gets more attention than this professional pink, but I liked the change. Typically I can keep a pedicure looking good for at least a month. I’m guessing that it started to chip sooner since I was on the beach for five days. I would definitely order this product again, especially since it’s so cheap and easy to put on. The Foxy Kat_AILA Mister Pookies Now back to the topic at hand… This month in my IPSY | Glam Bag, I received a full bottle of AILA nail polish in the Mister Pookies color. (I have to mention that a bottle of AILA nail polish at full price is $17 and I only pay $10 a month for my IPSY Glam Bag, which also came with four other products too!) The color in the bottle looks like a dusty purple/grey. Usually I use a bright color on my toes and typically in the pink color family, but with all of this AZ summer heat I’m hoping that a fall color will help bring cooler temperatures. Once on my toes and with a couple coats, the color looks darker than what it looks like in the bottle. It appears to be more of a steel grey and less like a purple. Even though the nail polish is expensive to what I’m used to buying, the company stands for “beautifully curated nail colors without compromising function and nail health”, which to me is worth it. As I’m getting older and perhaps a little more mature I’m looking for products that are healthy for me and the fact that AILA uses natural and organic ingredients is a huge plus. Each nail color is 5 free, gluten free, vegan, made without Parabens, cruelty free, chip-resistant, super shiny, long-lasting and made in the USA! I’m excited to see how long Mister Pookies lasts on my toes. I’ll be sure to update everyone once I find out.
