img_4681Now that it’s been over a week that I’ve been back from Mexico, (and about a week and a half since I got my spray tan,) my glow is starting to disappear and my porcelain color is shining through. I’ve learned to embrace and love my fair skin color, but I also enjoy having a little glow to accent my face shape. I’m highlighting some of my favorite bronzers below. Read to the very end to find out how to enter yourself and a friend to win a mini bronzer each!

img_4702img_4687My go-to bronzer this past year has been Chocolate Soleil by Too Faced. It’s a great medium-dark/warm bronze color and it smells like chocolate! What could be any better than that?! Too Faced creates a couple different products that give off the hint of chocolate. After I used it a few times, I either got used to the smell or it went away. I love this bronzer because you can control how dark you want the color to go and it’s a matte bronzer rather than a shimmer. I prefer the matte bronzers because I like to layer a highlighter at the top of my cheek bone. The bronzer on the right is Bahama Mama by the Balm. This bronzer is similar to Chocolate Soleil in the sense that it is a matte bronzer with a slight shimmer. However, this bronzer is slightly darker and slightly cooler in color, which is better for olive skin tones; where as the Chocolate Soleil is best for my pinkish undertones.

On the left is Park Ave Princess by Tarte. I find that this bronzer and the bronzer/highlighter/blush trio on the right are my favorite “vacation” bronzers. Both of these bronzers are shimmers, the bronzer by Tarte has cooler tones and the trio called Naked Flushed – Native by Urban Decay has warmer tones. The Tarte bronzer is waterproof! Not kidding, I wore it to the pool and to the beach and as long as you’re not scrubbing your face, swimming laps, or putting lotions on top of it, it is mostly waterproof. Pretty cool. The Urban Decay trio looks great over a spray tan. I typically spray tan before a beach vacation and this trio lives up to it’s “naked” name. It goes on lightly to give you color, but doesn’t make you look too made up. I love wearing it at night on beach vacations or to work when I’ve spray tanned, so that I don’t look too done up.

Although the Hikari blush in Tango is not a bronzer, I wanted to mention it because the hot pink color with a slight hue of coral looks great with a good bronzer and a good spray tan. It’s a matte blush, so layering a shimmer bronzer underneath and/or brushing a highlighter on top looks great. Not photographed is the Hikari bronzer/highlighter/blush quadrant. In one compact there is a blush, two highlighters, and a bronzer to create the perfect shimmer bronzer called Radiate. Each of these compacts I received in my IPSY bag, which you can sign up for here. IPSY is a $10 subscription program that sends you hot new items in beauty products like make-up, skincare, haircare, nail color, etc and a cute make-up bag to put them in. Another honorable mention is Hoola by Benefit, which I am sending to a lucky reader who enters my contest (more information below.)
