The no-makeup makeup look is a daily occurrence for me. It’s a look I’d like to think I’ve mastered, but really that’s due to pure laziness in the mornings when I’m getting ready for work. I’m naturally a late person, so reducing steps in the morning to ensure I’m out the door on time is priceless.

Starting off the New Year, I focused on this topic for the Allure column I wrote for both So Scottsdale! and Uptown magazines. You can read the feature here for So Scottsdale! (page 108) and here for Uptown (page 64), or continue below to see a couple additional items that aren’t mentioned in the write up, but are personal favs as well.

I never knew how important eyebrows are to your face shape until my sister-in-law made an eyebrow appointment for me about 5 years ago for my wedding. When your eyebrows are maintained and filled in naturally, it helps to compliment your face shape and create a polished look without much effort.

My two favorite eyebrow gels are above. The Brow Food gel is featured in the write-up and acts almost like a hairspray for your eyebrows. It keeps them in place without adding any color. This is great if you prefer to use eyebrow powder or a pencil.

The second option, which has recently been my favorite of late (again, because I’m in a rush in the mornings) is the Queen of the Fill tinted eyebrow gel by Elizabeth Mott.  This gel available in multiple tint colors and allows you to skip the powder and the pencil to save five minutes. **GIVEAWAY** I’m giving away a Queen of the Fill tinted eyebrow gel in red. Lip hydration is key for the natural makeup look. A chapped lip can give an “I just rolled out of bed” look instead, so be sure you take care of your lips! I am constantly applying a chapstick or hydrating lip gloss. On the days that I actually wear lipstick, I am still using chapstick under or over the color throughout the day.

Here, I included Dermalogica’s  Renewal Lip Complex, which I love for a light shine. Other options are Butter Gloss by NYX, which is a non-sticky tinted gloss, or So Plush by Julep, which you can actually feel the gloss repairing your lips.

Even if I don’t have time to do anything else, I always make sure that my under eyes and blemishes are covered. If not, I feel more tired and not as professional for work. Doing something as small and quick as using a corrector pen makes all the difference for me. (The second item I cannot leave the house without is mascara!)

La Roche-Posay makes Toleriane Teint Correcting Pen, which is used underneath your foundation. If you are like me and don’t always use foundation, then the Concealer Pen is for you! It reduces the step of needing to find an applicator. **GIVEAWAY** I’m giving away a La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint Concealer Pen for olive skin. Last but not least, here are a few items and tips that you can do to finish off the no-makeup makeup look.

  1. Skip the eyeshadow and use a creamy eye primer to smooth out the creases. I use Thank Me Later by Elizabeth Mott.
  2. Use a tinted face moisturizer instead of a full-coverage foundation and/or a face primer. I love Laura Mercier.
  3. Open your eyes by lining a skin color nude on the bottom lash line with a charcoal liner on top. I discovered Bright Eyes Eye Enhancing Eyeliner made by SKINN by Dimitri James a year ago and have been using it since.

  1. My whole life I have only worn eye makeup and lipstick, nothing else. Now that I am a full time blogger I don’t wear any makeup, even running errands.

  2. Thanks for the great tips! I’m normally a no make up girl but I do it as a full face but this gives me ideas of what I could do that’s in-between!

  3. For the most part, I will apply basic minimalistic makeup. I do get carried away based on the size of my bags on said day. Thanks for the quick tips.
