For my first wedding anniversary with my husband, @a2xron, he gave me perfume as one of my gifts (I believe this has to be #1 on the list of what people get their significant others when they don’t know what else to buy for them). I’m so glad he did because I had been talking about wanting Chloe perfume for as long as I’d known him. Unbeknow to Aaron, Chloe had just come out with a new perfume and I’d been wanting the original classic fragrance. Needless to say I was very surprised when I opened the box to found LOVE STORY written on the bottle. Doing my due diligence I went back to Sephora and they gave me samples of each perfume. After wearing one for a straight week and the other during the week following, I decided to keep the Aaron’s original gift.
If you’re familiar with the original scent by Chloe, then you might understand when I say that the original has a bit of a bite. The scent is very distinctive, rich and strong, which I enjoy. It’s perfect for winter months in a cooler climate. It is a perfect continuation of Chloe fashion, because the fashion is very distinctively Chloe and always stands out. Love Story is definitely a fresh, floral and sweet scent compared to the original scent. This plays on the more feminine fashions that Chloe is known for. For me, they both lasted all day.
Original Scent: Top notes of pink peony, freesia, and lychee embody subtle freshness. At the heart, midnotes of magnolia flower, lily of the valley, and rose rise to sublimated femininity. A base of velvety elegance comes to fruition through cedarwood, amber, and honey.
Love Story: Orange flower oil opens the fragrance with a radiant, luminous, and intoxicating characteristic like the flush of new love. The seductive and joyful scent of stephanotis jasmine, often used in wedding bouquets, gives the fragrance its heart. Finally the scent is grounded by the sensual diffusion, strength, and freshness of cedarwood, creating a unified and complex base that endures.
