Phoenix Fashion Week has given me the opportunity to connect with local and global designers. This year they have designers from all over the national and they’re bringing two designers from other countries too. I was invited to a media event before the Designer Fashion Showcase & Model Reveal at the end of June. I was able to meet with the designer of ShaLaJa Swimwear and bring some of their designers to you today. If you’re interested in seeing a sneak peak to Phoenix Fashion Week, I highly suggest going to the Shop Garment District event tonight. See details at the end of this post.
Arizona is notorious for its year long pool party season. There are many resorts and hotels that focus solely on bringing in guests to hang out at their pools. The best thing about living here is that we have access to these events in our backyard. Depending on your preference some hotels and resorts offer day passes to their pools and some sell tickets strictly for the concerts happening at their pools. As soon as I saw ShaLaJa’s beaded coverup I knew this luxury swimwear brand was perfect for the pool party scene. I love the bead work on this long sheer kimono. The colors and the design are perfect for a resort style pool party or even a night out. There’s a satin trim that elevates it from looking too much like a robe to give it a blazer or suit jacket element. The one piece swimsuit is so chic in white with the sheer black deep V down the middle. Honestly, I could wear it with some black jeans and heels for a night out too. In the group photos, Neyda’s red two piece is also from ShaLaJa. She turned the top around to create a v-neck with the zipper. Such a creative design element with the high waisted bottoms.
A summer pool party isn’t complete without a bright lip. I love wearing bright colors during the summer and having a bold lip allows you to wear less makeup on your face without looked any less made up. Kylie Cosmetics lip kits are great for summer because the liquid lipstick doesn’t smear, run or wear off. I’ve applied it at the beginning of the day and it’s lasted through multiple beverages, lunch and the elements of heat and water. I definitely had to reapply at the end of the day for it to look perfect, but for the most part it stayed on my lips. The color I’m wearing here was from the limited edition Vacation collection and the color is called June Bug. A pair of highly reflective shades is the perfect addition to the look. These are my favorite pair of oversized aviators from Quay Australia. These are called High Keys and they’re from the Quay x Desi collection.
