March is my favorite month in Arizona. The weather is true spring temperatures; anywhere from 60’s – 90’s degrees and every thing in between. There are so many outdoor activities to partake in and they start in January with the Phoenix Open and the Bird’s Nest concerts at the end of the month and continuing into early February. The beginning of charity gala’s, fashion shows, and weddings are happening during this time of year too. Many people have come out of hiding from the winter month and holidays to enjoy the beauty that Arizona has to offer. Regardless of whether you are exercise enthusiast, a sports nut, or would prefer to sit on a patio or near a pool there is something for everyone. Tons of hiking trails, at least half a dozen different spring training baseball parks, restaurants, bars, and resorts to enjoy a cocktail or appetizers poolside. It seems like local gyms enjoy the outdoors and encourage members to workout outside with pre planned group fitness events. BODI has a Sunday 8am workout at the Saquaro High School track every week that is completely free. Barre3 had their Barre in the Park event yesterday that happens once a year and the Moxy Hotel has yoga poolside (call for exact times.)

A year ago, Aaron and I enjoyed a staycation at the Moxy hotel in Tempe, Arizona. If you’re traveling to Arizona and want to stay in a central location close to the activities, I highly recommend staying at the Moxy. It’s close to Mill Ave in Tempe, Arizona where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Plus, if you come during Spring Training the Cubs play close by at Sloan Park or Diablo Stadium isn’t too far either.

If you’re local to Arizona and the spring season is passing you by, plan for a staycation during those brutal summer months. It will give you something to look forward to and you can cool down with some delicious summer drinks while hanging out by the Moxy pool. The bar is great – it’s where you check in! And they have record players in the bedrooms. You can even call a number from your hotel room phone to hear a bedtime story from a celebrity. Even though Arizona slows down in the summer months, don’t wait to book your staycation to ensure they aren’t full!
