The hottest make-up product right now is highlighters. JLo has always had her glow, but it seems like everyone else is finally catching on and learning how to properly wear the shimmer. I mentioned in my previous beauty post with Brian at Le Metier de Beaute that I’m also one of those people who are recently catching on. Thankfully I have great friends who are obviously trying to tell me something by gifting me highlighters. Also, Brian taught me the locations that are great for highlighters, which are above the cheekbone and under the outer corner of the eye, above the eyebrows, on the dip of your top lip and if you have a shirt that shows off your collar bone try putting it there as well. 
The first one is from my friend Stephanie and it’s the Shimmer Brick Compact by Bobbi Brown in Pink Quartz. This has been one of my favorites for years (as you can tell by the photos.) I like how there are five different shades that create the compact. I typically use a big brush over all of of the shades to apply the highlighter. Sometimes if I’m running really late, I’ll pick a shade and use it as a shimmery eye shadow. The shimmer is pretty subtle as you can see in the photos below and is great for most skin tones. Next is a liquid Illuminator called Orgasm by NARS and was gifted to me by my friend Marcy since she knew that my favorite blush was Orgasm by NARS for the longest time! This has a darker bronze shimmer to it that is great for people with an olive complexion. I love using it after I’ve spray tanned. Last in this grouping is High Beam from Benefit that I got in a gift set from my friend Jess. This is a great white shimmery highlighter that adds the perfect reflection for day or night. This highlighter helps me to look less tired and more awake through out the day.
The next highlighter was a gift from my sister, Casey. Although I have many other highlighters, I never really knew how to use them. Casey gave me the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop by Becca as a thank you for watching her dog-son and I am obsessed. This one is my favorite highlighter and it’s because of the soft gold-glow that it gives off. The shimmer isn’t too chunky and blends perfectly with my foundation.
Last but not least is the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Perfect Topping. This is a limited edition highlighter that is no longer for sale in stores. This particular color combination is a perfect pink-ish, peach, bronze. Similar to Becca, the shimmer isn’t too chunky and it adds the right amount of glow. Because of the color combination, it works for all skin tones. This product isn’t available at stores, but you can buy it online here.
