If you live in the greater Phoenix area or the Valley in Arizona and want to up your physical game, I’ve outlined all of my favorite fitness studios below and/or studios that come highly recommended to me. Some of the studios below have special new student deals at their locations and/or I have a first time free class code that you can use. There are a few studios that I’ve tried with friends, from recommendations or while I was using ClassPass that I don’t love and I have not included those studios below. If you have any questions about these studios or other studios that I haven’t mentioned, please leave a comment and I’ll get back to you! I love sharing my experiences, but please remember that you could have a completely different opinion based on what exercises resonate with you.

– HITT + Boxing + Bootcamp + Strength Based Exercises –

After It Training – Group and Personal Training. 250 W Baseline Rd #101, Tempe, AZ 85283; I have not been yet, but I’ve been dying to go. Aaron’s friend from high school works here and swears by this type of exercise to create your fitness journey. I’ve had friends go and share their positive feedback.

BODI – HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and Boxing. 6820 E 5th Ave, Scottsdale, AZ 85251; I love this full body workout and have been going for three years. Somehow the instructors keep it fresh and new no matter how often you go. There are three classes Strength, Sweat and Boxing. Use my code “THEFOXYKAT” for a free week membership. (TFK blog posts here.)

HIIT by LAF – HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) with heart rate monitors inside select LA Fitness gym locations. Gilbert, San Tan, Phoenix, Surprise; Each class is a 50-minute coach-led workout comprised of a variety of functional exercises, core training, cardio interval training, and strength training. (TFK blog post here.)

Jeremy Scott Fitness – Group training and conditioning. 7750 E. Redfield Rd Suite D106, Scottsdale, AZ 85260; I have not exercised here before, but I have a friend who lost 45 pounds just this year alone (roughly 6 months.)

Orange Theory Fitness – HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) with heart rate monitoring.  37 Arizona Locations; “Orangetheory is a science-backed, technology-tracked, coach-inspired group workout designed to produce results from the inside out.” Aaron and I had memberships here and going 4 times a week definitely resulted in Aaron’s best shape of his life. For me, I felt as though the public personal stats (friendly competition), running, and weight training combination was a little tough on my knees and joints, but there are ways to modify. Also, this is one of the more pricier fitness studios.

Tapout Fitness – Boxing. 14870 N Northsight Blvd Suite 108, Scottsdale, AZ 85260; I can’t wait to try a class. My friend started teaching here recently and is hosting free classes on the weekend, which is a very inexpensive way to figure out if you want to invest in a longer membership.

TruFusion – Bootcamp, Battle Ropes & Boxing, Kettlebells, TRX, Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Cycle, and more. 14202 N Scottsdale Rd suite 114, Scottsdale, AZ 85254; Super unique fitness studio! My friends have tried it and love it. They said it’s mentally challenging to overcome the heated room while doing strength type of exercises.

TruHIT – HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). Locations: Ahwatukee, Central Scottsdale, Norterra, North Phoenix, Paradise Valley, Scottsdale Airpark, and Tempe; I relate this workout to the workout at BODI, except instead of breaking the classes up in Strength and Sweat, they focus on specific muscle groups. (Leg day vs Arm day, etc.)

– Spin Classes –

CycleBar – Premier indoor stadium cycling with stats. Chandler, Gilbert, Phoenix, and Scottsdale; This spin class requests that you include your height and weight so that you can see how many calories you burn throughout the class. Each ride is a smart bike that allows you to digitally select your resistance and display your RPMs. I enjoy this class, but sometimes I prefer to just “feel” the ride and tune out my stats, which brings me to the next location (The Madison Improvement Club.)

The Madison Improvement Club (or The Madison) – Indoor cycling and yoga. Phoenix/Arcadia (Yoga & Spin), Tempe (Spin only) and Scottsdale (Spin only); This spin class is the closest thing to SoulCycle that Arizona has (in my personal opinion.) For me the mix of ambient lighting, music and movements to the beat is spiritual and therapeutic. I love the “Party on a Bike” ride and the version with weights too. Use my code “KATFOX123” for your first workout at each location for free.

Studio 360 – Indoor cycling. 3627 E Indian School Rd #102, Phoenix, AZ 85018; I used to go here regularly, but have been preferring classes and ambiance (lights and music) at the Madison. However, it’s still a good stand-up cycling class.

SweatShop – Spin, yoga and barre. 100 E Camelback Rd #156, Phoenix, AZ 85012; I have not been to this fitness studio yet, but love their Triple Sweat class schedule and have heard great things.

– Yoga + Barre + Pilates –

Barre3 – A combination of yoga, barre and pilates techniques. North Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Chandler; A strengthening and toning full-body workout through low impact movements. This is my favorite no-shoes required workout. Use my code for your first class for free, “THEFOXYKAT” (TFK blog posts here.)

Club Pilates – Group pilates classes. 18 Arizona locations; Premium, Reformer-based group Pilates classes, true to the original Method. (TFK blog post here.)

CorePower Yoga – High intensity hot yoga. Central Phoenix, Chandler, North Scottsdale, Old Town Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and Tempe/ASU. This is one of my favorite yoga studios in the Valley. I specifically love the Yoga Sculpt classes. Not all classrooms are heated, some classes are heated internally through cardio. At the end they give you a cold lavender towel, which is definitely a nice touch.

Hot Yoga University – Hot, heated and non-heated yoga classes. 2501 N Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85257; I used to go to this studio pretty frequently. They have a great variety of hot, heated and non-heated classes with great schedule times. Also, they use the Hot Yoga Evolved Integrative Method®

Metta Yoga – Yoga classes including water and aerial. Scottsdale, Phoenix; I have not practiced at this studio, but have a friend who teaches aerial yoga classes here.

SweatShop – Yoga, barre and spin. 100 E Camelback Rd #156, Phoenix, AZ 85012; I have not been to this fitness studio yet, but love their Triple Sweat class schedule and have heard great things.

TenPoint5 – Barre studio. 2334 N Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257; The closest alternative to this studio would be Barre3 except I’ve found that this studio has less cardio and more targeted slow movements. It seems as though there is a stronger burn that way. I enjoy this class when I’m looking for something different.

The Madison Improvement Club – Yoga and indoor cycling. Phoenix/Arcadia (Yoga & Spin), Tempe (Spin only) and Scottsdale (Spin only); This yoga studio has hot and heated classes only. The sculpt class offers more strength and cardio movements, which is my personal favorite. Use my code “KATFOX123” for your first workout at each location for free.

So cool how you will try so many different things! I did one OrangeTheory class and almost died lol. I am waaay to beat up to do that –everything hurt. I like Barre 3 the best because it is closest to dance, but I haven’t gone to class in over a year. Again, way to many mishaps lol

I remember when you tried OTF and I was so surprised because I knew you preferred dance type workouts. I’m so proud of you for trying something new! I haven’t been to Barre3 in so long. I need to go back. Have you heard about Buti Yoga? I heard that it’s like tribal dance. I kinda want to try it. Let me know if you want to join me 🙂
