Splurge or Steal? OTK Boots & Aviator Sunglasses

The last over the knee (OTK) boots that I purchased were about six years ago from Steve Madden. I actually still love them, but the heel height is a bit taller than what I like to wear on a daily basis. I’m definitely over six feet tall and feel like I’m going to break an ankle when I wear them. Since then, I’ve been on the hunt for a great OTK boot, but it’s challenging to find a boot that actually goes over my knee. I have long calves on the skinnier side, so these faux suede boots are a perfect fit. They cinch at the top with a drawstring so that they don’t slip down on my leg, which can be super annoying when you’re wearing them all day long. Plus, they look just like the very popular and very expensive Stuart Weitzman The Highland Boot for $798, except that they are marked down from $190 to $133 at Sam Edelman and Nordstrom and are called the Kent Heeled Over-the-Knee Boot. The thicker heel made it super comfortable for me to wear them all around Boston too! STEAL!

The second STEAL of the day are my sunglasses. Quay Australia has been one of my favorite Instagram sunglass retailers and this past year they collaborated with well known YouTube make-up sensation Desi Perkins. She’s one of my favorite accounts to follow on SnapChat. She shares anything from silly videos of herself, her husband and friends, to make-up and fashion tips. These sunnies are from her collaboration and they’re called High Key. They are highly mirrored and an oversized aviator style. I’m wearing the gold colored glasses. These are so popular on their website that they had to reorder more for sale. These glasses are only $60!
