Earlier this month, three of my favorite local bloggers joined me at Hotel Palomar for a staycation. The hotel is in Phoenix, Arizona and has a great downtown city vibe. We were lucky enough to work with Christine Adar, who is one of the emerging designers showing at Phoenix Fashion Week. All four dresses are custom made by Christine and you would never believe that the black dress that Karolina is wearing was made literally the day before Christine came out to Phoenix for the Designer Fashion Showcase & Model Reveal in June. Christine said that she wanted to wear one of her own designs, so she quickly made a gorgeous gown with a sky high slit, cinched waist, asymmetrical shoulder and slight train. It looked stunning on both Christine and Karolina.
This Friday, August 4th, 2017, Christine Adar will be back in Arizona for the Designer Fashion Show + Shop Garment District event. This is one of my favorite Phoenix Fashion Week events because it is a fun way to meet the designers face to face during the Shop Garment District portion of the event and an entertaining way to see a sneak peek of what they’ll be presenting at the main event for Phoenix Fashion Week on October 5th – 7th, 2017. I highly suggest going to both events if you’re able to. Even if you don’t consider yourself a fashionista, it’s okay! Being around local creatives is just so inspiring.
The four of us had such a great time at our staycation. The Hotel Palomar has a gorgeous lobby area on the second floor where Blue Hound Kitchen and Cocktails is, which is the same floor that the rooftop pool and bar is on. The cocktails that the bartenders made at Blue Hound K+C were picture perfect! I felt like we were ready to head to a black tie event, especially with my rope tied top knot by Lauren Wohlin (she is a hair genius) and my event ready makeup by Sarah Stidham.
I’ll actually be in Michigan for my sister-in-law’s wedding reception this weekend, so I’ll miss out on the Phoenix Fashion Week festivities, so I can’t wait to watch everyones Insta Stories so that I can be in two places at once.
Let me know what you think of the dresses below. Which one is your go-to gown?
