To me beauty is an extension of fashion. I can’t think of a single time that I’ve met someone in fashion who isn’t into beauty products and beauty trends also. I am definitely one of those people who is fascinated by make-up. Creating color combinations on your own face to portray a specific look and how it can completely change when applying the same look on the next person is what makes playing with make-up so fun to me! I am definitely not as knowledgeable of each different product line and what the individual items can do for your overall look, but I’d like to think that I know enough to get by. Some nights I’m a bit more daring then others – thank you Pinterest!

Again, I have to thank my beauty guru, Casey Fox (co-owner and hair stylist of Eclipz Salon Studio), for introducing me to Erica Mendoza. Over a year ago I was a bride-to-be who was on the hunt for a make-up artist to make my Maid of Honors and I beautiful on my special day. I first met Erica at the MAC counter at the Nordstrom in Scottsdale Fashion Square. She gave me the most gorgeous make-up for my boudoir shoot, which was a surprise wedding gift to my future hubby. I knew I had to have her for my bride make-up on my wedding day as well as my girls who stood next to me. Plus, she did my holiday make-up last year for the GoDaddy holiday party (TBT blog post here).

Since then, Erica has started her own beauty blog called June Pearl Beauty and she has been spending much more time as a freelance make-up artist. When recruiting my #glamsquad for my holiday party look I knew Erica was the girl! She is one of those people who is grounded by class and style, but keeps her looks fresh by playing with current trends and trying new things. To me it’s the perfect combination! She always knows exactly how to make me feel like my most beautiful self.

When I reached out to Erica I described to her the outfit I was planning to wear and let her do the rest. I love the look she came up with! The pop of lip color really stood out against the pale pink coat and the black outfit underneath. The bright pink lip made the overall head to toe look more current and fashion forward. The contouring of my face and the use of different products were a magical combination that resulted in high cheek bones and stand out eyes. My favorite is how she used the Mineralize Eye Shadow from MAC with a wet brush to create a creamy shimmery eye shadow, which is perfect for any holiday look. Like I mentioned before, I am not the make-up pro – I just find it fascination, so I highly suggest looking to Erica for more make-up and beauty tips. It was so much fun for me to learn from a pro and ask questions about what she’s using and why. The products that she used on me for the holiday party are listed below along with multiple photos from every which way so that you can see up close and personal just how amazingly talented she truly is! If you want to be in the know for all things beauty – follow her blog and social media handles!
