The beauty behind this shoot made all the difference. I had so much fun working with Erica Mendoza of June Pearl Beauty and Lauren Wohlin of Gossamer Salon for the hair and makeup. There were three dresses total that I styled for this shoot from tobi.com. Follow them on Instagram at @ShopTobi and #ShopTobi. This dress is called the Andie Front Keyhole Shift Dress. For the beauty I wanted to play on soft and hard, light and dark, sweet and sultry, etc.

Erica Mendoza from June Pearl Beauty, @junepearlbeauty, and I have worked together for several years. She did my makeup for my wedding and almost every other event leading up to my wedding. I can definitely count on her for helping me out with a picture perfect look. She knows me through and through. She understands how I prefer to look and what makeup techniques to get me there. Also, she’s up to date on current trends. Rose gold is so popular/currently. Erica played around with rose gold inspired makeup for this look. For this white dress, I decided to wear silver jewelry and the rose gold eye shadow plays off my skin color and the overall coloring of the look. I thought maybe the silver jewelry and rose gold makeup would clash, but they complement each other perfectly. Originally, Erica gave me a nude lip for the deep maroon dress that I wore in the first look, which you’ll see soon, but as I changed into the white dress I knew that the MAC Cosmetics Diva Matte Lip color would be the perfect contrast to the white dress.

For the hair in this look, Lauren Wohlin of Gossamer Salon (@l.a.dub and @gossamersalon) brought in her own personal halo, which are hair extensions held on by a wire. It was a perfect match to my hair with blonde tips and is worn on the crown of your head. She put the wire on my head like a headband and pulled my real hair up on top with a comb. The blonde tips created this fun bayalage look that I love. Lauren also curled my entire head, plus the halo in waves and by this time we were on the final look, so she brushed the curls out and created a soft teased look that you see here. I absolutely love this hair paired with this dress because it adds to the “sweet” aspect of the look while allowing the darks lips and leather to play on the “sultry.”

  2. I love the highlights in your hair. The dress is fabulous as well. The black moto jacket was a nice touch.
