c40a3309It feels like forever since Phoenix Fashion Week 2016 happened at the Talking Stick Resort! If you need a refresher, take a look at The Foxy Kat blog on my favorite designers here. This month, I’m getting down to the nitty gritty details of what went into my looks while attending all three nights of the local fashion show. Read on for ideas for your upcoming holiday parties, weddings (I’d advise not to wear white to a wedding!), birthday parties, anniversaries, galas, fashion shows, etc this winter and spring.

This white shirt dress, designed by Natasha Duran of Hues of Ego, was the perfect item to wear to Thursday night of Phoenix Fashion Week. The white stood out against a night full of prints and colors on the runway from the winner and lifestyle designer Isy B. I’m obsessed with the silver buttons that go down the dress. I was worried that the sleeves would be too hot in Arizona during October, but as the sun went down and the breeze picked up I was thankful to have the skin coverage. The length of the shirt dress gives off a sexy leg and I love that it is cut slightly higher on the sides. I don’t typically wear the military look that often, but the ease of the dress is selling me to wear it more! It’s so comfortable, it’s not tight or restricting, but it’s still very form fitting and flattering. I actually thought that the high neck would bother me, but it didn’t. The long sleeves and the high neck were the perfect balance to a short skirt.

I just loved my make-up, and I loved the make-up artist and make-up studio where I got it done at! Alyson Lavender is the artist and The Sparkle Bar is the studio. You’ve heard me talk about The Sparkle Bar many times before. It’s a studio where you, as the customer, can book an appointment to get your make-up done and there are freelance make-up artists who work out of the studio to do your make-up. I asked Alyson for a classic smokey eye look, complimented with a strong brow, natural looking face and nude lip. I wanted the focus to be on my eyes.

If you haven’t been to The Sparkle Bar yet and you’re able to swing by their Old Town Scottsdale location, please use my refer link to receive $20 off your first make-up application.

I promise you, you’ll be addicted like me! For events like fashion shows, photo shoots, weddings, holiday parties, etc. I’m able to run in for a 35 minute appointment and get a full face of make-up. Fake eye lashes are an extra charge, but it’s something that is definitely worth it because you’re able to reuse them later. If you’re really pressed for time or just getting off work, they have a service where you come in with your face make-up done (or make-up already on from that day) and they do your eyes and offer touch-ups. This application stands up to it’s name and has saved me in a couple situations where I was running late and/or pinched for time. They do not offer this application on Saturdays and it takes 20 minutes.

As for accessories, I opted to not wear any jewelry since the silver buttons stood out on their own. Anything I added to it was combative to those accents. On the night of the fashion show, I wore Coach booties because they are much more comfortable than the YSL heels that are shown here. If you want to see what the dress looks like with the Coach booties, refer back to my Instagram from 10/13/16.
