This spring I am all about fun prints. Floral was a hit on the runways at New York’s Spring/Summer 2017 fashion week, but sometimes you want something other than floral. Something that isn’t so romantic and has a little bit of an edge. Graphic prints and designs can definitely feel this void, like you see here. This silk dress has an asian inspired print that creates a unique twist on a black polka dot dress.
A.L.C. is the designer and they never disappoint in their classic, yet creative designs and inspired silhouettes. I have a thing for silk pieces and A.L.C. creates magic in the form of silk. The dress is the perfect item for work because it’s dressy and conservative, but is still fun and flirty to wear to an after work event, a happy hour with your girlfriends or a date night.
Plus, the construction creates a very flattering midsection, and it has fun details like faux pockets. The overlay of the fabric pieces creates dimension and style to the look as well. The flounce of the sleeves and the skirt add a flirty vibe and cinches in the waist even more with the slight appearance of volume on your shoulders and legs.
I decided to pair this look with black Coach booties, as I’m not quite ready for sandals just yet, an edgy statement necklace from Sugar Bean Jewelry, and a vintage cocktail ring (click here to view the blog post outlining the detail pieces in this look.) You can’t forget about Georgina, she made an appearance too!
Be you, bravely.
