Last month I shared a couple looks from my photoshoot with Yvee Bee Photography. For this shoot, I collaborated with Jessica Adarme from Adore Me. She specializes in on-location makeup and spray tanning services. It was extremely convenient having Jessica come to my house to do my makeup. For this photoshoot she focused on illuminating my face by contouring. The key to contouring that she shared with me is making sure that the skin is hydrated, especially if you live in the desert like me. She took her time in priming my face to build a perfect base and I really loved how hydrated my face felt, but not sticky. There’s a difference! For being so fair skinned, she did a great job of playing off of my porcelain skin and adding a highlighter to give me a subtle glow without over doing it. I also thought that highlighters were only for people who have the perfect tan, but she assured me that I can achieve the JLo glow without the bronze skin color. Unless of course you want the bronze skin color, then you can go to Jessica for sunless organic spray tans, which is exactly what I’m going to do on Friday, April 30th (more details below.)
You’ll notice that in the above photos I actually switched from an orange lip to a red lip. I’m a huge fan of lip color and I’m constantly switching it up, so it’s important to show that in various blog photos. The tip to changing up your lip color (if you don’t love the first lip that you try on) is to add concealer around the lip as to not smear the color. The first lip color that I wore was actually a pretty bright orange (MAC Make Me Gorgeous.) Since the outfits and location was focused on more of an earthy-vibe, Jessica taught me the perfect trick for toning down the neon color. She took a nude lip liner around the edges of my lips and blended it in with the orange. It brought the brightness down and complimented the browns and golds that she used on my eyes, which is very different from what I usually wear on my eyes for photoshoots. Typically, you’ll see me in a smokey eye or a cat eye, but Jessica went for a style to match the Bohemian look perfectly. I couldn’t have been happier!
If you’re getting married in Arizona or in Lake Tahoe, Jessica is your girl! She actually has a second business in Lake Tahoe for on-location make-up. Lake Tahoe is a gorgeous place for a wedding and some times it’s hard to find available make-up artists. I was in a wedding for one of my best friends there almost three years ago and it would have been nice to know about how amazing Jessica is back then.
