IMG_3791 IMG_3792I’ve always been a colored lip kinda gal. I love bright colors, dark colors and everything in between. If you read The Foxy Kat, I’m sure you notice that I experiment with every color under the sun; purple, pink, orange, red, etc. The one color I’ve really been exploring this past year is nude. The funny thing about that statement is that I always thought nude was a “colorless” lip shade. I’m now realizing that you can change up your look with a full spectrum of nude lip colors just as easily as using color-colors (and by that I mean the purples, pinks, oranges, reds, etc.)

IMG_3815 IMG_3822Last summer while I was in San Diego on a girls trip, I noticed my friend Meghan was wearing the perfect nude lip. I had been on the hunt for this nude for many months. The one that isn’t too dark, but also isn’t too light. It’s a color that tones down a colorful or loud outfit, looks great all day long at work and doesn’t wash you out. It still looks like you’re wearing a lip color and not just a chapstick. Meghan explained to me that it’s actually two different lip products and it is a combination that she learned from a Sephora makeup artist. Meghan and I have similar complexions, except that I read more pink and she’s more olive. Surprisingly the lipsticks worked for me too!

IMG_3823 IMG_3824The photos directly above show the combination of both colors. You’ll notice that the two images above these are showing me wearing the Buxom True Nude Lip Foundation only. The lip foundation is proven to match your lip tone to create the perfect nude. It’s creamy, but goes on like a matte. The lip pigment smooths your lips and in my opinion acts like a lip liner as well. Once you put it on, it doesn’t go anywhere. It’s long lasting, but doesn’t dry out your lips. You can wear it alone or with something over it. I love putting the Hourglass High Sheen Lip Gloss on top. It has a little bit of a pinky nude color and gives your lips a little dimension and shine.
