Happy hour is one of the happiest hours of the day. I love how my favorite restaurants, bars, hotels, and resorts all partake in that hour after work for you and your friends to enjoy appetizers and drinks at a discounted price. It’s such an easy way for people to come together to catch up and decompress after a work week.

I don’t have much time from when I get off work, and drive through traffic in order to make it before Happy Hour is over, so I plan my outfits ahead of time. If you have a casual work environment, then a pair of jeans and a cute top are perfect to wear to happy hour, but if you are required to wear suits or pencil skirts, you might not want to be so constricted in such a relaxed atmosphere.

Now that it’s getting warmer out, I opt for shorts anytime I can. Since the office I work at is not that casual, I will bring a change of clothes and change in the lobby bathroom before heading out. Shorts and a tank top are about as much clothing that I can handle in these warmer months. If you want to go slightly fancier than a tank top, pick out a tank top in a different fabric than cotton. Try a silk or velvet tank or something that has interesting designs like crossed straps, zipper detail or lace.

This shoot was in April and since it was a little cooler at night, I borrowed my friend Jess’ lace kimono to beat the breeze and wore booties to keep my feet warm. I am a huge fan of cut-offs and booties! It’s the perfect compromise during those spring months when the weather can’t make up it’s mind. What is your must have for spring fashion?
