H&M is my go to for a quick update to my wardrobe. Each season I love adding a couple fashion pieces to my everyday staples and H&M has the best fashion forward items at a very reasonable price point. The clothes might not be the greatest quality and I always tend to range between four different sizes, so trying them on before purchasing is a must. However, I typically keep the pieces for only a couple years before donating and moving on to the next trend (Disclaimer: Surprisingly, I do have a couple of those H&M gems that are greater than 5 years old and still in active rotation, but that is fairly rare.) The brands of clothes that I splurge on are always high quality fabrics, design, and fit. Plus the styling is typically on-trend for multiple years so keeping them in my wardrobe for longer makes the value increase and the price more worth it. Regardless, I find that H&M quality and fit is a smudge better than Forever 21, plus I am able to get a full cash refund compared to store credit like at Forever 21.
This dress is perfect for summer. I love black and white with pops of color and that is exactly what I did here. Sometimes I’ll wear a rhinestone necklace with a bright shoe or a bright purse, but my favorite combination is with the neon yellow Harlow Statement Necklace from Kendra Scott. This color is discontinued, but they have almost two dozen other color options. The best thing about this necklace is that it has a hook closure and allows you to choose the length that looks the best on you and your neckline. For those of you on the south side of Phoenix/Greater Valley Area, you no longer have to drive all the way to Scottsdale Quarter because Kendra Scott is opening a location in Chandler, Arizona! With a classic bob and romantic curls, I went for the YSL black pumps. I love how the twist on a high-low skirt accentuates the legs since the low hem is actually on the sides rather than the front of the dress. Having a high neckline creates the perfect balance for a shorter skirt. The exposed zipper adds to the funky trendy style, while the palm tree print screams summer.
