A great present for someone that is hard to buy for or you’re not sure what to get them is handmade soap and candles. Everyone can use either of these items and knowing that you’re supporting a local artist/ small business makes the gift that much better.
Sunnybrooke is a local Arizona candle company. I purchased a couple smaller tins so that I can test out the scents before purchasing a larger candle. The reason is because I like to burn candles in my office during the workday and I didn’t want to commit to anything that my co-workers could be sensitive too. You never know what might end up being a strong scent once it’s burning. However, my co-workers love ever scent and none of them are too strong, so it’s perfect! Plus I waited too long and the larger candles started selling out pretty quickly (they are that good!) If purchasing a larger candle, they are made from 100% recycled glass. The names/ descriptions and the scents are pretty spot on, in case you’re worried about purchasing without smelling.
There’s something about smelling and picking out homemade soaps that transcends me to a relaxing spa with water fountains in the background. Strawberry Hedgehog soap is made in many different unique scents, and I was able to pick out three of my favorites at the market. Eucalyptus Lime is my favorite and it’s very calming and cleansing to use as a facial soap. I’ve kept it in the bag and placed in into my towel closet. Now all of my towels smell of eucalyptus! The other scents I received at Oatmeal Stout and Greenapple Rosemary, which you would never think to combine and make into soaps, but they work perfectly. Lemongrass Ginger I am gifting this year and it will be the perfect kitchen soap. Now I finally have a reason to use those cute little soap dishes that have been stored away.
