Summer is nearly over according to the fashion calendar. Stores have racks of mark downs to clear the shelves for fall product, but summer is far from over in places like Arizona. We are barely into August, which can be one of the hottest months of the year. Then there’s September… you think it should be cooling down just enough to show off your new boots, but instead the thought of putting them on makes you sweat.
Don’t fret! Take advantage of the summer sales, embrace a light weight dress and don’t forget about those metallic sandals.
This is the time of the year when it’s acceptable to leave the house with wet hair and no bra (as long as you’re still supported and your hair dries into natural beach waves), so take advantage of the carefree fashion summer styles at a super low cost. I went ahead and reviewed the sales to pick out my favorite (classic) summer dresses to share with you.
Here’s a tip when shopping end of season sales: Ask yourself, “what would transition well into the next season and what trends are strong enough to carry over into next summer”. The items on my list that I’m looking for are short dresses that I can wear with tights and long or high-low hems that I can wear with short boots. This summer was all about bright solid colors, bold stripes and patterns, as well as whites/blush/neutral tones, feminine floral and/or ruffles. Not to mention lace or eyelet, cut-outs, bold design elements and back details were also a must have.
