With highs in the 40’s and 50’s last week, all I’ve wanted to do was bundle up in my U of A sweatpants, over-sized hoodie and furry blanket with a cup of hot cocoa. Now that the holidays are over, it’s less acceptable to be lounging on the couch all day. I guess you could say that I have a case of the post-holiday blues, so I need to brighten up my day with a colorful sweater.
Layers are very important in Arizona weather for a couple of reasons:
- The weather here can be very unpredictable. Last week it was in the 40’s and 50’s, and this week it’s supposed to be in the high 70’s.
- Since it’s not very often that the weather gets below the 40’s I (like most people here) don’t have a proper coat. Layering up is the best way to avoid having to purchase a huge coat that you would only wear for 1 week of the entire year.
- Lastly, it’s fun to take advantage of the cold weather when we have it! I love winter fashion and love pretending that Arizona has four different seasons like the majority of the United States.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
The first winter fashion look in the Sweater Weather feature is a canary yellow Tory Burch sweater with front pockets and rounded gold buttons down the front that match my gold Marc Jacobs watch. I found this gem (the sweater) for more than half off at My Sister’s Closet, which is a consignment store in Arizona. Underneath is a basic white tee from Banana Republic and my favorite jeans “The Skinny” by Joe’s Jeans in Yasmin wash. Topping it off is one of my favorite pashmina scarfs in a rich copper/brown color from Aysha Saeed for Signette (now called Aysha Collection) to match my tan Coach booties that I purchased half off from Nordstrom Rack last July.
Be You, Bravely.
