Arizona is heading into spring, but I’m not ready to give up my favorite booties just yet. Thank goodness I found this dress at Barney’s winter clearance because it goes perfectly with ankle boots. I love this dress so much that I’ve styled it two different ways and I’m spreading out the photos into four blog posts. One blog post (per look) that discusses the little details that make each outfit, and another blog post (per look) to talk about the overall look. If you see this dress shown multiple times this month, that is why. You’ll get to see how minor styling differences can change the entire feel of an outfit. I can’t wait to hearwhich is your favorite look.

In today’s blog post I’m giving you a sneak peak of the first look and the details that I styled with my floral Thakoon Addition dress. My husband gave me my very first Michele watch for Christmas and since he gave me a gold watch for our wedding he knew that I would want silver. I’ve been digging up all of my silver jewelry that I haven’t worn in a while, simply because gold is typically my go to. The necklace shown here is a Tiffany’s open heart necklace that my parents gave me for my 21st birthday. It was my first diamond, but the original chain was very short and I prefer to have long chains for stacking and to add more details/dimension to my look. I took full advantage of the open back on my dress and flipped my necklace around to add drama. The bracelet I’m wearing is a birthday gift from one of my girl friends. It’s an arrow Gorjana bracelet and is a constant reminder for me to “follow my arrow, wherever it points” (lyrics by Kacey Musgraves.)

This dress… I have to point out the strap on the upper back, the slight overlap on the back and the waist gathering. These details mixed with the lace peak-a-boos, short length and long bell sleeves makes it super flattering on all body types. I typically can’t wear dresses that gather at the waist since that is where I hold my weight, but the juxtaposition of the short length allows me to balance the look with a little leg. Good thing the sleeves are long as not to show too much skin. The silk fabric is flowy and perfect for this cool weather. Some might say it’s warm, but to me it’s perfect! Check back tomorrow for the full look…
