About a month ago I went to the NYDJ store at Scottsdale Fashion Square after work and had the best time shopping with the store manager, Denise (she has such great style and is always so much fun to catch up with), and with all of you via Instagram stories. One of the best things about shopping with friends is having someone there who knows you – personality and style – and can give you feedback about the outfits you’re trying on. These days, I barely have time to meet my friends for drinks, so it’s almost impossible to come up with a time for a shopping date. Thank goodness for Instagram! I love sharing images on my stories and using the Poll feature to invite others to vote. My friends and family all send me photos when they’re shopping and I absolutely love helping them to pick out the item that is best for them. If you feel like you’re not sure where to even start with shopping, head to my TFK Styling Services page to learn more about the personal shopping services that I offer.

For this shopping trip, I was focusing on acquiring some separates that work well together, but are also very strong pieces individually so that I can mix and match them with other pieces in my closet. I typically gravitate towards neutrals because it’s so easy to pair them together. This time I branched out a little and incorporated a violet long sleeve blouse, which is close to a grey color and it looks really good with both dark and light denim.

Although it is nearing summer time in Arizona, I love light jackets! I wear them year round in my office and when I go to restaurants. Maybe it’s because I’m used to the warm weather outside, but I am always cold indoors. This denim jacket from NYDJ is so perfect to wear all day. I’ve never been able to wear this style of denim jacket because it’s usually too stiff and uncomfortable. This jacket is actually made from a stretchy denim fabric, so I can move around in it and still be comfortable.

Last but not least, I picked up these extremely comfortable jeans! NYDJ came out with a new jean line called Curves 360 Sculpt and I’m obsessed. (At the bottom of this post, I included all of the photos from my Instagram stories and the first post is a poll of these exact pants!) This style of jeans are actually pull on denim leggings, which means that there is an elastic waist band and no zipper, button or front pockets. There are two back pockets, thank goodness! I need a place to put my phone. It’s so nice to pull on your pants and not to have to worry about closing a tight zipper/button in the front. They have Lift and Tuck technology to make sure your pants are flattering and comfortable. The pant is offered in multiple washes, and styles. The dark color of these jeans looks so good with the lilac top and light denim jacket. Although, based on the Instagram Stories, it looks as though the chambray top was a favorite. I think I’ll have to go back for that one too!

Have you ever worn denim leggings? If so, what did you think? So far these pants are my everyday go-to, especially for work!
