The tulle cocktail skirt definitely takes the cake this winter as my favorite holiday party look. You can style it in so many different ways and wear it in so many different colors. If you saw my GoDaddy holiday party recap, then you’ve seen my black tulle skirt – I’m obsessed! This is the outfit that inspired my head-to-toe GoDaddy party look. One of my favorite things is playing with hard and soft details. Something girly, but also edgy.

Here, I knew that the magenta tulle skirt would go great with my BCBG black leather jacket (My favorite thing about the jacket is the unique cut-out on the back). In order to not overdo the look with too many colors or prints, I opted for my white A.L.C. silk sleeveless blouse (as seen in a previous post), which looks great tucked in for this look or left tucked out with a pair of jeans or shorts. My black YSL pumps play on the round-toed ballet shoe look and ties the leather jacket in.

Lastly, I layered two necklaces. One was a gift from my girlfriend Jess, which is from BaubleBar and has gold spikes with rhinestones on it (the hard look). The second necklace is three strands of pearls in varying shapes and lengths, which I bought from J Crew for my bridal shower (the soft look). I typically don’t wear pearls, but I love wearing them with a sparkly second necklace.

This skirt would make a great festive New Year’s look and you can wear it again for any special occasion. The beauty of being an exclusive item from Hues of Ego is that you can speak to the designer and actually customize the color! When have you ever said that you had something made for you?!
