I am pleased to finally reveal the big collaboration between TheFoxyKat.com and the #glamsquad that helped to prepare me for the GoDaddy holiday party last Saturday night. If you’ve seen some of my posts this week, then you’ve read about my nails by Lauren D, my make-up by June Pearl Beauty and my hair by Casey Fox of Eclipz Salon Studio. What I haven’t touched on yet is the wardrobe and jewelry that was the base of my holiday party look.

Last week I played around with three alternative holiday party looks featuring a pant instead of the typical skirt or dress that I usually wear. While I absolutely loved each pair I tried on, I resonated more with a girly look including a tulle skirt and pale pink trench coat. I am a sucker for the class and style of Audrey Hepburn and the feeling you get from watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Even though the look has some modern elements to it, there was something that left me with a similar feeling of nostalgia similar to the movie. The t-strap platform sandal and vintage clutch were the perfect accessories to accompany the theme. The fabric of the Avery coat felt like soft velvety butter. All night I was petting myself and found that people walking up to me at the party would do the same. The construction was beautifully done. The lining was silky and warm. The snap closure buttons were so easy to open and close. The neckline was great to be able to give me the warm and appeal of a high neck or allow me to open it up and show off my necklace. Plus the belt gave me the perfect illusion of a cinched waistline. The bracelet length sleeves were very thoughtful and allowed for me to easily put my hands in my pockets comfortably. Plus I could show off bracelets (if I wanted to wear one)! This is the first coat that I wanted to keep on all night even though the party wasn’t cold.

One of my favorite design elements of the outfit was the pleating and structure of the full skirt on the Avery coat and how the tulle just happened to peek out from under the bottom to keep people wondering what was underneath. I came across a tulle skirt in Natasha’s closet by accident. She designed and made a magenta tulle skirt for herself and I fell in love. In order to tie the entire look together I knew that the skirt and bodysuit had to be black to compliment the show-stopping coat. Natasha was able to make me a custom made holiday skirt to wear to the party. I love the texture of the tulle and the volume it adds. Natasha created a thick waistband that sits at my natural waistline, which is super flattering for any women. This gives the illusion of a smaller waistline as the a-line skirt adds wanted curves. Keeping the bodysuit and skirt in the same color helped to reduce a ballerina effect as it might look if I wore a shiny bodysuit or a bodysuit in another color (although, I was spinning and dancing around like I was 25 years younger and in a ballet class). I choose this bodysuit because of the neckline, back details and the fabric. To me, it was the best option to compliment the skirt and jewelry that I was wearing.

What I would love to play around with next is pairing the skirt with a chunky fitted/cropped sweater or tying up a denim skirt at the waistline or even a short sleeved bodysuit in black and white stripes. There are so many fun combinations that you can do with a tulle skirt. It definitely makes for a special outing, whether its engagement photos, rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, date night, birthday party, holiday party or a festive night out. The styling can make a huge difference as to what kind of look you’re going for.

To top off the head to toe look was the perfect pieces of Lucite jewelry from Possibility. The Gloria necklace adorned with Swarovski crystals was the perfect amount of sparkle that I needed to top off the holiday party look. I loved the black satin ribbon that attached to the Lucite piece. The magnetic closure made it super easy to put on and keep a very strong closure while wearing it. The pattern and shapes etched onto the Lucite is extremely unique. Plus the size and cutout of the whole piece is perfect. It laid on my neck comfortably and was large enough to stand out, but not overpower the look. The Carmen ring matched the design of the necklace impeccably and added to the crystal look that my holiday outfit needed. It’s the perfect cocktail ring that demands attention without overwhelming the look. Both items were surprisingly light in weight. This jewelry collection is something that I’ve never seen before. Possibility is extremely creative and a forefront in the jewelry industry. The best part is that you can truly dress it up or down to your liking. The clear Lucite and crystals match anything. The pieces can be worn with jeans and against a colorful top or they can be used as the main attraction and allow the crystals to standout with a cocktail dress.

Now that the entire outfit is pulled together with the hair, make-up and nails, you can see how everything came together in complete harmony. The #glamsquad is amazing! It’s incredible how I was able to work with five different people and five different opinions, and yet every pieced married well together with the next. I have to say that overall this collaboration was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who helped pull it all together <3
