One of my favorite wardrobe staples is a pencil skirt. Of course the black pencil skirt is a classic. It looks great for any professional setting like a day at the office, a work event after hours, a job interview, etc. Depending on your styling, pencil skirts are also great options for a happy hour, cocktail event, or an dressier evening with friends. You don’t always have to wear a blazer or a collared shirt either. Try something a bit more comfortable like a casual, but nice top like the one shown here. Or something a little see through for those non-work events.

Also, you don’t always have to wear a black pencil skirt. Try the “new” pencil skirt style! Go a little crazy with different colors, prints or even hardware design. In the L’Agence white pencil skirt here, there is a functional front zipper in gold and black. It gives off a nice detail to take away from the traditional pencil skirt look and add a modern feel to your outfit. For white skirts in general, I suggest trying a top that has some sort of striping or prints in black and white. Keeping to a black and white color pallette, but adding detail in the top with stripes or a print really helps to freshen up your look. If you have colored hair, that can add color to your look or feel free to add color into your makeup or accessories. I kept it classy with a nude lip by Kylie Cosmetics in Candy K.

Lastly, all of my jewelry here is by Ann Revere Jewelry. She has the daintiest pieces that are perfect for layering and super affordable. It’s okay to wear three or more pieces of jewelry with Ann Revere Jewelry because it’s not overbearing like costume jewelry can be. Here I’m wearing the Simple Bar NecklaceThe X Hoops, and the Beaded Stacking Ring. During the month of February, 25% of all sales go to Baby2Baby!

  1. Love the dainty jewelry! You look amazing in that pencil skirt girl! I wish I could wear them ( I look like JLo in pencil skirts lol). Such good photos for this post too.

  2. This pencil skirt is perfect! I think outside the box with work wear too! I have an olive one with leather detail and a quilted gray one with a silver zipped up the front. It’s a hit every time!! Love the look 🙂

  3. LOVING the neutral colors and soft tones – this pencil skirt is perfect for any occasion 🙂

  4. Love that skirt!!! Totally agree the pencil skirt is so much more than for a professional setting. All about switching things up. Great photos 😊
